If you can make it into Cairns, please grab your pack before race day to avoid the stressful long wait times before you start your event, especially if you are collecting a GPS Tracker.

Organising an event on the scale of the Cairns Port Douglas Trail Ultra is only possible if all runners follow the safety rules of the event. One key rules is;

  • Wrights Lookout Rd WS2 - Black Mountain Rd Dirt Track National Park Entrance.

  • CP5 Bottom The Bump Track - Mitre St Beach Walkway.

All Runners must follow this rule as it is part of our Police Permit for the events. Any runner found on the course not wearing their High Vis Vest will be disqualified and pulled from the course.

Weโ€™ve let them know that our event is on, and they will be expecting orders from you.

Last but not least, weโ€™ve been asked by our medical team to move CP5 - The Bump Track from the TOP of The Bump Track Black Mountain Rd to the BOTTOM of The Bump Track on Connolly Rd Mowbray. We are still waiting for confirmation for this change in CP5 Locations. The reason for this is to improve runner safety on the course, adding in an extra official WS4 TOP The Bump Track. We will have QAS Ambulance roaming Black Mountain Rd Between Quaid Rd and Top - The Bump Track Track head. We will then have another Medical personnel Stationed at the Bottom - The Bump Track, checking each runner as they go pass. This is also where you will be asked to wear your High Vis Vest.

Moving CP5 off the range will also assist in improving the safety of the Runnerโ€™s Support Crew and Event staff for the duration of the event and also streamline the logistics for the event and the runnerโ€™s support crews.

As soon as we have confirmation that we can move this CP5, We will send out a communication regarding this. We know your pacer may want to have the extra distance on their legs, but they are more than welcome to start at the Top of the Bump Track with you if youโ€™ve already entered them.

Between now and the Start of the event we are busy with crucial final details of organising the event, we ask that you keep the emails to a minimum. Much of the information can be found on the website under the Info Bar. We will be adding the Track Me Live GPS Tracking Button, Onetime Live Tracking Button to the Home Page once we have those links next week.

Great! ๐Ÿ‘ We are looking forward to meeting you in just over a week. If youโ€™d like to Become a Legend and be part of the action, please email us, as we need sweepers, medal awardees, marshals, forerunners, logistical drivers and Check Point Support Volunteers across the course and weโ€™d love to hear from you.
