Ultimate Direction Adventure Vesta ( Vest ) Review

Shona was incredibly lucky to be given the Ultimate Direction Adventure Vesta (Vest is the male version, Vesta is the female version) 6.0 to review whilst up shooting for the Cairns Port Douglas Trail Ultra a few weeks ago. She’s gone over the pack with a fine-tooth comb. She is impressed with the superior detailing on the Ultimate Direction Adventure Vesta. Check out Shona’s full review.

It’s time to get your pacers to Sign Up. Pacers are highly recommended for the CPTU120 and CPTU80 events. We want you to have a mate with you when running along the iconic 4 Mile Beach at night. There is a small risk that you might come across a Crocodile on the course. It is a small risk but it is still a risk. The CPTU course is considered to be in Croc-Country, this means that we have to be careful when close to large bodies of water. Locals live alongside crocodiles daily without any problems, however, they are careful and always aware they could be there.

If you are entered in the CPTU80 and CPTU120 we’d love for you to get a friend involved and pace you the final 17.3km (mainly downhill) to the finish line.

We are incredibly lucky that the tides are in our favour for the event, with more than 5 meters of beach at our high tide. We will have a High Tide Route available for the High Tide that affects the course at 3:58 am

We will have a High Tide Route available for you to choose to take and avoid the beach at this high time period between 3 am and 5 am on Sunday Morning.

If we have a crocodile sighting, you will be contacted and the course will be diverted to the high tide route. We will have a GPS tracker of all our CPTU120 and CPTU80 runners.

There was a crocodile sighting on 4 Mile Beach yesterday, 1.5m little one, just resting, it moved on by itself, the beach was closed for a few hours. Here is the full article below.

Course Change

We are over the moon with our course change

While on the photoshoot, we discovered a sidetrack to avoid a road crossing that will affect the following events;

  • CPTU120

  • CPTU40

  • CPTU80

  • CPTU20

The CPTU120 and CPTU40 will now pass under Stoney Creek Road, instead of crossing it to enter Checkpoint 2 Kamerunga.

The Start of the CPTU80 and CPTU20 will no longer go along the road of Stoney Creek Road, instead, the runners will cross the creek to link directly with the Smiths Track. The CPTU120 will also follow this course. We are incredibly excited as it reduces the impact on the local traffic in the area as well as increases runners’ safety on the course. A massive WIN-WIN.

Currently, we are remapping the course, it won’t affect the distance or vertical gain, or loss for the event. We will hopefully have these maps updated for you all before the weekend training.

Also, we’ve been asked the following question;

I entered the CPTU2021, does my entry automatically carry over to the CPTU2022?

The Answer is YES! 🙌 We will see you all at the CPTU2022! 🏃🏻‍♀️⛰🥳

Great! That’s all for us!

Shona and Cora
